
About Us
The BEARS amateur radio club provides:
- Volunteer Public Service for the town of Manchester and surrounding towns
- Maintenance of a VHF and a UHF repeater using dues paid by members
- Free radio communication support during events such as charity walks and races like the Manchester Road Race, Crusin’ on Main car show, and many others
- Regular on air nets on the club’s repeaters relaying radiogram messages and discussing ham radio topics
- Social events such as an annual picnic, holiday dinner, monthly Saturday breakfasts
BEARS Traffic Nets
Regularly scheduled nets are held on the W1BRS repeater Monday through Friday evenings at 8pm
- Tune to the BEARS repeater frequency 145.110 mHz, minus offset, PL 77.0
- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are independent formal traffic nets followed by informal discussions. The Tuesday night net is an informal swap net.
