What is a BEARS Field Day Like

Join BEARS at the Manchester Recreational Center.

Bring your family and friends, invite others to visit us and experience the amateur radio hobby outdoors on a warm sunny June weekend.

Share your favorite dish or snacks for lunch or dinner on Saturday, Water and soft drinks provided by the BEARS club.

Amateur Radio control operators who are members of BEARS will help guide you to use the equipment on frequencies you may not be licensed to use but they are.  The BEARS will show you how to computer log contacts you make with other distant stations across the country and even into Canada, South America and Europe if we are lucky. The BEARS are always happiest to answer all your questions on operating a temporary field station.

BEARS Members

Everyone is encouraged to participate and make contacts on the air. You will sit behind one of our stations with a BEARS licensed control operator and you will be making long distance contacts before you know it.
